Tips for Building Your Target Audience

When it comes to building your audience, follow these helpful tips:

  • Select a Region: Choose a geographic area that aligns with your TA. This can be a whole country, like the “Netherlands,” or a more specific local location. For example, you might target “People living in this location” and focus on Amsterdam, with a 30-mile radius;
  • Utilize Demographic Settings: Narrow down your TA by considering factors such as age, gender, and preliminary language. These settings can help you purify your audience even further;
  • Consider Detailed Targeting: In the Detailed Targeting section, you’ll find numerous options to specify your TA based on demographics, interests, and behaviors. Take your time to explore the functional options and find the ones that best match your ideal TA. The targeting map will deliver you with a comprehensive overview of the available choices.

By following these tips, you’ll be able to effectively build a target audience that aligns with your business objectives. Remember to regularly evaluate and refine your audience as you gather insights and data from your advertising campaigns.

Step 3: Creating Your Ad

To create your ad, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Ad Name: Begin by clicking on the Ad Name you’ve chosen. Make sure the correct Facebook Page is selected. If you have an Instagram account connected to your Business Manager account, you’ll have the option to select it;
  2. Ad Setup: This is where you’ll need to have either a static image or a short video (under 15 seconds);
  3. Get Creative with Canva: If you have a knack for creativity, I suggest using Canva to create static Facebook ads. They offer a variety of square Instagram templates to get you started;
  4. Consider Professional Help: If you prefer assistance from a graphic design professional;
  5. Upload Your Image: Assuming you’ve created an image, click on the Add Image button and then the Upload button. Locate the image on your computer and upload it. Once it’s uploaded, click Continue.

By following these steps, you’ll be well on your way to creating an engaging ad for your Facebook Lead ad campaign. Remember to craft compelling copy and choose visually appealing images or videos to capture your audience’s attention.

Step 4: Write Your Ad Copy

When it comes to ad copy for your Facebook Lead ad, there’s a lot of information available on what makes it effective. Here are some key points to keep in mind:

  1. Fill in the Primary Text: Craft a compelling message that captures the attention of your audience. This text will be displayed prominently in your ad;
  2. Create an Engaging Headline: Choose a catchy headline that entices people to learn more about your offer;
  3. Choose Your Call to Action: Select an appropriate call to action from the available options. This helps guide your audience towards the desired action, such as signing up or providing their contact information.

Remember, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to ad copy. Experiment with different messaging and find what works best for your specific campaign goals.

Step 5: Create Your Lead Form

Now it’s time to create the lead form that people will see when they click on your ad. Follow these steps:

  1. Click the Create Lead Form button in the Instant Form section and give your form a name;
  2. Leave the default form type, More Volume, selected;
  3. Fill in the Intro: Add a compelling headline and introductory paragraph to reinforce what people can expect after submitting the form. By default, the form will use the image from your ad as the header image, but you can customize it if desired;
  4. Add a Headline: Include a headline that appears above the form fields to grab attention and provide context;
  5. Customize Your Form Questions: By default, the form asks for the person’s full name and email address. However, there are additional questions you can ask to better qualify your leads. Take a look at the available options and customize the questions accordingly.

Link to Your Privacy Policy: Hopefully, you already have a privacy policy on your website. Include a link to it in your lead form. If you don’t have one and you’re running a WordPress website, you can use a reliable Privacy Policy generator.

Click the Finish Button: Once you’re done customizing your form, click the Finish button to finalize the editing process.

Step 6: Publish

At the bottom right of the screen, you’ll find the Publish button. Click it to publish your Facebook Lead Ads campaign.
